What is spray tanning and how does it work?
Spray tanning involves applying an active ingredient dihydroxyacetone (DHA) using a low pressure machine.
DHA is a colourless sugar that once combined with the proteins and amino acids on the skin it turns the skin a
golden brown. You will be sprayed with a light golden brown colour solution which will take 8-10 hours to fully
develop.
Is it safe?
Yes. It is far safer than the harmful rays of the sun. No adverse affects have been reported other than minor
skin irritation on those who are allergic or those with VERY sensitive skin.
How long will it last?
Depending on how you care for your tan it should last between 5-7 days. Your tan will fade as your skin start
to shed dead cells so the key to keeping it looking good is to moisturise daily.
How do I prepare for my spray tan?
All the information you need to know about how to prepare and care for your tan is in the Tanning Advice
section.
Do I have to take all of my clothes off?
No, it’s up to you how much you take off. Some people find being completely naked uncomfortable and keep
their underwear on or put on a bikini. Do what feels comfortable for you.
How dark will I get?
